Veterinary Technician - General Practice

Join Portland Vet Stroudwater and build something new from day one! As our new GP clinic opens its doors, we’re seeking a licensed or credentialed veterinary technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) to help deliver exceptional patient and client care in a collaborative and expanding environment.

Anticipated Schedule
This is a full-time position

  • Flexible 4-day schedule to start, set schedule of Monday - Thursday (7:30am to 6pm) schedule as of September 2026
  • No weekends or major holidays
  • Potential for schedule change or start time change in future, or weekend day with growth

Compensation

  • Starting at $27/hour plus a 15% shift differential for applicable hours, commensurate with experience and licensure
  • Sign-On bonus up to $5,000

What You’ll Do

  • Assist veterinarians with routine general practice procedures: exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, venipuncture, and catheter placement
  • Assist veterinarians with routine general practice surgeries such as spay/neuter and mass removals
  • Support with patient intake, client communication, and education on treatments
  • Help manage patient flow and appointment coordination in a fast-paced setting
  • Collaborate with the GP team to shape workflows, culture, and best practices from the start

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a skilled, collaborative veterinary technician who is excited to help build a positive team culture and play an active role in launching a brand-new general practice

  • Licensed/Credentialed veterinary technician; very experienced veterinary assistants may also be considered
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in small animal practice including surgery
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues
  • Comfortable using practice management software and diagnostic equipment
  • Demonstrates compassion, teamwork, initiative, and respect
